![]() ![]() I suggest you to refer the link below to download Microsoft flight simulator x and follow the steps to install in your PC.įollow the steps below on how to install Microsoft flight simulator xin compatibility mode:ġ. Sorry to hear that you have lost Flight simulator CDs. Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community. Microsoft flight simulator x standard version Did MSFS have trouble finding the folder after the update? Was it unable to read a file? Was it the Nvidia driver update or the windows 10 update that threw it off? Why did't any uninstaller work properly? Disappointing that I had to delete 20gb to start all over, but absence makes the heart grow fonder I guess. Why did MSFS not continue the download in the first place? The unique thing I did was install a new Nvidia driver and update windows 10. Reinstall and you will not be met with the same "please wait." issue. Go ahead and uninstall it from steam just to be safe, I don't think it would launch anyway. It will tell you it can't be deleted if you have MSFS running so exit MSFS first. users>"me">appdata>roaming>microsftflightsimulator Go recreate that directory in your file explorer. This is what opened the file directory and proved that the files WERE on my computer, they were just hidden. The button that lets you choose where the files go. So, with MSFS open, on the installation screen, select "browse" before starting the download. As I was writing this I found a solution so I am making this a discussion rather than a question, in the hopes of helping someone and to make it aware to Microsoft that this is a thing that could happen. So anyway I uninstalled and reinstalled, using different uninstall methods till like 1am. Hiding folders seems like a relic of windows 98 and not something you are used to seeing in the otherwise clean windows 10 environment, but that's just my opinion. To find it if you didn't know like me, you have to write out users>"you">appdata>roaming>microsftflightsimulator in the file directory. update: apparently appdata is a hidden folder, wow. I look for users>"me">appdata>roaming>microsftflightsimulator but there is no appdata file nor roaming file, and I can't search it on my pc. So the files are not deleted from steam then, they must still be on my computer somewhere. Reinstall on steam, launch game, download progress was saved with 70 something gigs left instead of 90. ![]() ![]() Yeah this feels bad but at least this didn't happen at 85/90gb haha. Most popular fix is to uninstall everything and start with a clean slate. So I look around online for people with similar issues. Internet is connected, wifi is constant and reliable. I've given it ample time to get going, ten minutes of "please wait.". Instead I see "please wait." in the progress bar. The issue is the download never starts again. The progress of the download was saved, I can see I only have 70 of the 90gb left to download. I launch MSFS from steam to resume the in-game download. Windows updated fine, and the performance issues were gone. I go to restart my computer and select "restart and install updates". I panic because this feels like a hardware problem in hindsight maybe it was my cpu at max capacity? not sure and I was losing control of task manager. Mouse is slow and laggy, the chrome tab tool 10 seconds to open, task manager took even longer to open. The download progresses to 20gb and I open up a chrome tab and notice that my whole computer is struggling to operate. I had finished the steam installation and began the in-game download of 90gb. ![]()
